Affordable Housing State Requirement for East Amwell
The Affordable Housing Ordinance No. 18-19 was passed by the Planning Board and Township Committee at their October 2018 meetings.
From Nov. 2018 to Nov 2025, East Amwell has agreed to an obligation of 89 new constructed affordable housing units. This obligation will be met by permitting high density construction on 4 lots: Block 11, Lots 4 and 37.02 (John Ringo Road) and Block 16.01, Lots 26 and 27 (Route 202/Dutch Lane). Any developer interested in taking advantage of the higher zoning density will have to provide the required affordable units per State requirements and will also be responsible for providing sewer and water for the project. With this agreement, there is no requirement for the township to undertake any development on its own.
